WASHINGTON – There is major scrutiny for the Environmental Protection Agency.
An investigation was conducted by the Government Accountability Office and they found the EPA broke federal law in regards to their use of social media to promote the controversial Waters of the United States Rule (WOTUS). Congressman Rodney Davis said he wants the EPA held accountable.
Davis says that the data behind WOTUS is murky at best, and the measure is simply too costly to be put into law without first passing through the chambers of the House and Senate.
“I have asked them simple questions about how it may effect homeowners in Central Illinois and they cannot give me even simple answers,” said Davis. “This is too big a deal to see put into basic law without going through the basic lawmaking process and that is exactly what this administration is trying to do.”
The recent passage of a $1.1 trillion federal omnibus spending package did not include text blocking the controversial rule.
