Robert Edward Bishop, 81, of Bloomington, passed away at 11:20 a.m. on Dec. 21 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.
His funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Bloomington with Pastor Thomas Wirsing officiating. Visitation will be from 2-4:00 p.m. on Sunday at Trinity Lutheran Church and one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church.
Interment will be at Park Hill Cemetery in Bloomington. Full Military Rites will be accorded by the United States Navy Honors Team and the Bloomington-Normal American Legion Honor Guard.
Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, Trinity Lutheran School or Gideons International. Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington is assisting the family with arrangements.
Robert was born on Aug. 31, 1934 in Bath , a son to Edward J. and Olga Horstmann Bishop. He married Joyce I. Neunaber on June 14, 1958 in Bethalto.
Surviving are his wife, Joyce Bishop of Bloomington; three sons, Timothy (Christine) Bishop of Algonquin, Paul (Tami) Bishop of Edelstein, IL and Daniel (Deanna) Bishop of Marquette Heights; one daughter, Katie (Alan) Williams of Bloomington; nine grandchildren, Heidi, Christl, Christian, Max, Kari, Anna, Samuel, Gretchen and Emma; and one sister, Wilma Hardesty of Havana.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant granddaughter, Erika.
Robert served in the United States Navy during the Korean war from 1952-55. He was employed at District 87 as an Industrial Arts teacher. He also worked in the Parks and Recreation Department in Bloomington.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where he was active as an Elder and Bible Study Leader. Robert was also an active member of the German-American Society in Peoria.
Robert was a master gardener. He especially enjoyed planting tomatoes. He also enjoyed woodworking, building bird houses, and carving walking sticks.
He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be deeply missed.

Keionta Williams was born on June 2, 1997 in Chicago, a daughter to Keysha Williams and Michael E. Seals.
Her funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday at Wayman AME Church in Bloomington with Rev. Charles Orr officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday, from 2-5 p.m. at Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington and one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.
Interment will be at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Bloomington. Memorials may be made to the family.
She graduated from Normal Community West High School, class of 2015, where she was a member of the Color Guard. She was published in “Celebrating Art” Midwest Spring 2013 edition, submitting a pencil drawing of actor, Shamar Moore. Keionta was also a member of the Praise Dance Team at Wayman AME church under director Lyndetta Alsberry.
Keionta was a student enrolled at Heartland Community College majoring in psychology. Her desire was to become a family and marriage therapist. She was a loving daughter full of love and laughter. She enjoyed drawing, dancing and spending time with family and friends.
Keionta is survived by her parents, Keysha Williams and Michael E. Seals, both of Bloomington; three sisters, Michelle of Minnesota, Diamond of Minnesota and Kaniah of Bloomington; and one brother, Antonio of Minnesota. She also leaves behind two great grandmothers, Albirda Davis of Chicago and Lillie Seals of Peoria; four grandparents, Gloria of Chicago, Darnell of Chicago, Eula of Peoria, Ricky of Chicago; and Great Aunt, Deborah Gant of Bloomington and a host of other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
