BLOOMINGTON – The City of Bloomington and a police officer who was fired in 2010 after an incident at Stevenson Elementary School have reached a deal which means the officer will get $322,209 in compensation.
Officer Scott Oglesby was allowed back at the department after a court ruling earlier this year. The recently-reached deal with the city also means Oglesby will not be returning to duty and will retire by the end of July 2016.
“I am pleased an agreement has been reached that will allow all parties to move forward. I want to focus my attention and the efforts of the Bloomington Police Department where they belong, on serving and protecting the City and citizens of Bloomington,” Bloomington Police Chief Brendan Heffner said in a news release.
The deal will be up for consideration as part of the City Council’s consent agenda on Monday.
