Rachel P. Grismore, 42, of Normal, passed away of a heart attack at 11:02 a.m. on Nov. 28 at her residence.
Visitation will be from 3-5 p.m. on Monday at Eastview Christian Church, Normal. Her Celebration of Life service will be held immediately following the visitation at 5 p.m. at Eastview with Matt Ludwig officiating.
Cremation rites have been accorded. In lieu of flowers, an Education Fund has been set up at First Financial Bank in Bloomington. Donations can be made out to Paula Hafner. The banks address is: First Financial Bank, 1218 Towanda Ave, Bloomington 61701. Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington is assisting the family with arrangements.
Rachel was born on May 2, 1973 in Normal to Fred and Paula (Smith) Hafner.
Surviving are her parents, Fred and Paula Hafner of Normal; children, Maya N. Davis, Tyre Grismore and Keewan Grismore all of Normal; two brothers, F.J. Hafner of Bloomington and Patrick B. (Heather) Hafner of Punta Cana, Dominican Republic; sister in-law, Tracy Hafner of Bloomington; and two grandchildren, Marquan Craig and Ja’Quan Craig. Also surviving is her aunt, Anne Carignan and her aunt and uncle, Rick and Jan Hafner; several nieces, nephews, cousins and her best friend, Sara Washington of Bloomington.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Paul and Margaret Smith and paternal grandparents, Edwin and Esther Hafner.
Rachel was employed at State Farm Insurance for 17 years. She enjoyed working with her co-workers and took great pride in her current position as a security analyst.
Her life focused around family, close friends, and work. She was an enthusiastic supporter of the Bloomington Normal Fighting Irish Football program and the NormalCommunity High School Ironman. Along with her adorable dog “Yogi Poodle,” she loved attending all of Keewan and Tyre’s athletic and school activities and spending time with her grandchildren, Marquan and Ja’Quan.
Rachel was a member of Eastview Christian Church. It was through Matt and Carrie Ludwig, who shared the Gospel, that Rachel accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior a few years ago.
Her beautiful smile and caring personality will be dearly missed.

Judith K. Queckboerner Hughes, 69, of Normal, died on Dec. 2 at 9:57 a.m.

Judi was born on Aug. 11, 1946 in Savanna, a daughter to Alvin George and Freda Louise Frank Queckboerner. She graduated from Freeport Senior High in 1964 and worked for General Casualty Insurance Company before marrying Jerry Hughes in Lena in October 1967 and divorcing in 1971.
She worked for Micro Switch in Freeport for 16 years before moving to Normal in 1977 where she worked for 23 years at GTE/Verizon before retiring in 2010.
Judi is survived by her brother, Everett (Doris) Queckboerner, Waupaca, Wis.; nephew, Craig Lang, Lanark; and her best friend of 38 years, Sharon Bell. Sharon and her family became Judi’s second family and gave her many years of love and happy memories.
