BLOOMINGTON – Miller Park Zoo is hosting its fifth-annual Wild Lights event Friday and Saturday night.
The event runs from 5:30 to 8 both nights.
“It’s one of the few times we’re open at night. We’ll have about 1,000 luminaries throughout the zoo so it’s basically zoo-by-candlelight,” Bloomington Parks and Recreation Director Jay Tetzloff told WJBC’s Dan Swaney.
Tetzloff said there will be face-painting on Friday night and some characters from the Disney movie Frozen will be appearing Saturday night.
“It’s really an event for all ages,” Tetzloff said. “We see a lot of families but we also see a lot of couples later in the night.”
Tetzloff said some exhibits will be closed for the animals’ safety.
The cost is $7 per person and $3 if you’re a member of the Miller Park Zoological Society. Childred younger than three get in free.
