Donna Arndell, 90, of Normal, died at 3:05 a.m., Nov. 22 at Heartland Healthcare in Normal.
Her funeral will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday at Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home, Bloomington with Rev. Ric Schneider officiating. Entombment will be in Park Hill Mausoleum, Bloomington. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be directed to Alzheimer’s Association or Parkinson’s Association.

Donna was born April 14, 1925 in Bloomington, the daughter of William and Mamie Brander Wannemacher. She married Henry Salch on April 13, 1945. She married Thomas Arndell on June 20, 1975. They both preceded her in death.
Survivors include her children, Juli (James) Thorpe of Bloomington, Roger (Carol) Salch of East Peoria and Marcia (Ruben) Esparza of Normal, Marlene (Mike) Parmele, Darrell (Betty) Arndell and Janice Ramsey, all of Kentucky; 22 grandchildren, Donald (Andrea) Thorpe, Douglas Salch, Eric (Renee) Wert, Jami (Chuck) Carver, Marci (Corey) Mecagni, Timothy Margherio, Jessica (Adam) Green, Amber Margherio, George Margherio, Jamie (Sherry) Esparza, Corey Esparza, Tobie Esparza, Pam (Andy) Logston, Kim (Brian) Finn, Mike (Alicia) Parmele, Tommy (Sue) Arndell, Scott (Amy) Arndell, Matthew Ramsey, Mark Ramsey, Theresa Ramsey, Stephanie Ramsey, Dana Ramsey; 21 great grandchildren, Jessy Glaub, Mackenzie Haas, Jim Glaub, Hayleigh Wert, Ashton Wert, Grace Wert, Gunner Carver, Vallen Thorpe, Ripley Thorpe, Maya Mecagni, Allen James Mecagni, Letty Mecagni, Lily Esparza, Emma Esparza and Mason Esparza, Katey Logston, Kelsey Logston, Sean Finn, Marlee Finn, Michael Parmele and Meredith Parmele; two brothers, William (Sherry) Wannemacher of Missouri and Marvin (Sandy) Wannemacher of Ohio and a sister-in-law, Donna Brown.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Jack Wannemacher, a stepson, Jim Arndell, a grandson, Robert Wert and a great-grandson, Vander Thorpe.
Donna graduated from Trinity High School in 1943 and was employed by State Farm Insurance Co’s during the 1940’s. She had a love for writing poetry, crocheting, and making jewelry.
Donna was a loving, kind-hearted wife, mother and grandmother. She always put others before herself. In her last years at Heartland Healthcare she was known by all the wonderful staff that took care of her as the happiest resident. Donna always had a smile on her face even when she wasn’t feeling well. She will be missed dearly by all that loved and knew her.
Jean Ferrel McDonald, 79, of Bloomington, passed away at 11:20 p.m. on Nov. 20 at her residence.
Her Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. on Dec. 2 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Bloomington with Monsignor Douglas Hennessey officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 7:00 p.m. on Dec. 1 at the church. Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington is assisting the family with arrangements.
A private family interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Normal. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society in care of Holy Trinity Church, 711 North Main Street, Bloomington.
Jean was born Oct. 24, 1936 in Rockford a daughter to Irvin and Elizabeth Heggy Ferrel. She married Dennis McDonald on Aug. 18, 1958.
She is survived by her children, Elizabeth (Randy) Butts, Bloomington; Patrick (Debra) McDonald, Dunedin, Florida; Mark (Angee) McDonald, Kings Mills, Ohio; Kathleen (Walt) Kraft, Bloomington; and Timothy (Amanda) McDonald, Geneva, Illinois, grandchildren Anne (Jay) McGee, Michael Butts, Catherine Butts, Reid Butts, Kristin (Ben) Yates, Lauren Castillo, Megan (Dan) Grothman, Caroline McDonald, Michael Kraft, Margaret Kraft, Addelyn McDonald and Jameson McDonald, great-grandchildren, Maxwell and Madeline McGee, Alexandra, Logan and Wyatt Yates, her brother Robert (Marian) Ferrel, Boynton Beach, FL and many dear friends.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents and son, Michael Ferrel McDonald.
She attended Trinity Grade School and Trinity High School and graduated from Appleton High School, Appleton Wis. She was an honorary member of the Trinity Class of 1954. She graduated from Marquette University in Dental Hygiene in 1956.
Jean spent her youth in Bloomington. She was a champion swimmer and diver and also a darn good golfer and cheerleader. She returned to Bloomington in 1968 to raise her family. She was active in the community as well as in the lives of her children, grandchildren and friends. Jean never turned down the opportunity to celebrate anything. Our gatherings will never be the same.

Roy M. Petersen, 88, of Colfax, passed away at 2:40 a.m., Nov. 20 at his residence.
His funeral will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Colfax. Pastor Connie Frase will be officiating. Burial will be in Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4-7:00 p.m., Monday at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury and one hour prior to services on Tuesday at the church.
Memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church or Advocate BroMenn Hospice.
Roy was born Feb. 11, 1927 in Colfax the son of John and Hannah Winterland Petersen.
He married Iva Mae French on Dec. 23, 1950, in Downs. She survives.
Also surviving are his sons, Carl of Geneva, Neb., Ralph of Chester, Alan (Sabrina) of Colfax, and Glen (Jamie) of LeRoy; grandchildren, Katie Petersen of Phoenix, Ariz., Kellie (Brian) Lane of Phoenix, Leeann (Tyler) Bain of Bloomington, Joshua Petersen of Gibson City, Tara (Chris) Walz of Goose Creek, S.C., Cheyenne Petersen of LeRoy, Logan Petersen of LeRoy, Stephanie (Tyson) Heisner of St. Louis, Mo., and Stuart Smith of Indianapolis, Ind.; great-grandchildren, Riley Cherry, Brayden and Brenna Bain, Eva and Alaina Heisner, and Bailey Lane, Autumn Walz; sister, Delma Freed of Fairbury.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
Roy was a lifelong farmer in the Colfax area. He was a member of the American Agriculture Movement where he was part of the tractor cade to Washington DC in 1979. While there he testified in front of Congress on behalf of agriculture.
Roy and Iva Mae, produced and sold produce for Petersen Produce which supplied produce to many local stores.
They also enjoyed traveling around the country to see various farming operations and spending time with friends in the Country Card Club.
Roy was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where he was a member of the cemetery board and was part of the church choir. He also helped build the current church building. Roy was the Lawndale Assessor and then was a Trustee for more than 50 years.
Roy was a true steward of our land; doing his part to preserve and conserve our heritage.

Steven D. Sutter, 69, of Hudson, passed away at 2:15 p.m. Nov. 21 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Hudson United Methodist Church with Rev. Scott Carnes officiating. Cremation rites will follow. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home in Bloomington and one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.
In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Baby Fold in Normal, CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate for Children) in Bloomington, or to his church.
Steven was born Feb. 21, 1946 in Bloomington the son of Anthony and LaVerne Wheeler Sutter. He married Wanda J. Mc Fall on July 2, 1976 in Williamsville. She survives along with one son Justin (Laura) Sutter of Louisville, KY; two grandchildren Jenna and Jayden; and three brothers Darrell Sutter of Normal, Vernon Sutter of Phoenix, Ariz, and Floyd Sutter of Bloomington; and three sisters Julia (William) Gunderson of Peru, Ind., Kay (Richard) Reihl of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Nancy Robert Daniels of Normal; Also surviving are aunts and uncles and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Steven was a member of the Hudson United Methodist Church. He was a graduate of Lexington Highs School and Illinois Community College. He was a Firefighter for the Normal Fire Department for 26 years, drove a truck for various trucking companies and was an Auctioneer for several years. He enjoyed playing cards and spending time with his family and friends.
