Bloomington and Normal will both have garbage and recycling collections on Thanksgiving and the day after Thanksgiving on Friday, but bulk waste will not be collected.
Normal Public Works will collect bulk and landscape waste, leaves and brush the following week on the regular collection day. Residents are asked to place their garbage and recycling carts at the curb after 6 p.m. on the day before their regular collection day or by 6 a.m. on the day of collection.
In Bloomington, garbage may be placed out for collection at the curb, but not in the street, no earlier than 2 p.m. on the day prior to scheduled collection, and no later than 6 a.m. on the day of the collection.
The drop-off facility at 402 S. East Street, Bloomington, is closed on Thursday and Friday.
