BLOOMINGTON – Game Day with Adam Studzinski kicks off sports coverage today at noon on WJBC 1230 AM.
That will be followed by Illinois State’s road game at South Dakota State in Missouri Valley Conference football action. Pregame coverage is at 1 p.m. with the kickoff at 2 p.m.
ISU, ranked No. 6 nationally, looks to bounce back from last week’s loss that snapped a seven-game winning streak in a Missouri Valley Conference game at Carbondale. The Redbirds have a 7-2 overall record, while Southern Illinois 3-6 overall and 2-4 in the conference.
Also on WJBC 1230 AM, Illinois Wesleyan’s men’s basketball team opens its season at home against Benedictine at 6:30 p.m. Red Pitcher and Gary Walter have the call.
Meanwhile on your computer or smartphone at wjbc.com, Illinois Wesleyan’s football team concludes its season in Chicago against North Park in a College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin game at 1 p.m. The Titans are 7-2 overall and 4-2 in the conference. North Park is 2-7 overall and 1-5 in the league.
Also, quarterfinal round high school football playoff games involving Normal Community, Central Catholic and Tri-Valley can be heard on wjbc.com starting at 12:45 p.m. NCHS (10-1) travels to Libertyville (11-0) for a 1 p.m. game in Class 7A, while undefeated Tri-Valley (11-0) plays host to Deer Creek-Mackinaw (9-2) in a battle of Heart of Illinois Conference teams in Class 2A at 2 o’clock.
Central Catholic, winner of 10 straight for a 10-1 record entertains undefeated St. Joseph-Ogden (11-0) in Class 3A at 4 o’clock. Meanwhile, the ISU volleyball team plays at Evansville at 6 in a key Valley contest, while the Bloomington Thunder takes the ice in Green Bay in hockey action at 7 o’clock.
