NORMAL – Two pedestrians were hospitalized after the were hit by a car while crossing an intersection in Uptown Normal on Saturday night.
Police in Normal say a car driven by Heather Stiles, 44, of Bloomington was turning from southbound Linden Street onto eastbound College Avenue at about 11:10 p.m. when the vehicle hit two pedestrians who were in the crosswalk.
The two victims, Savannah Stucki, 22 of Donovan and Alexa Niksich, 21, of Lockport, were both taken to Advocate BroMenn Medical Center in Normal where their conditions haven’t been released. Police say Stucki suffered head injuries. Police say Niksich’s injuries were minor.
Stiles was cited for failure to yield to pedestrians in a crosswalk.
