NORMAL – O’Brien Mitsubishi in Normal, in conjunction with Mitsubishi Motors North America, is starting a scholarship program in Bloomington-Normal.
The five year program will offer five scholarships per year for students at each of the Twin Cities public high schools – Bloomington High School, Normal Community High School, Normal Community West High School – to attend Heartland Community College.
“Children that live here, that are kids of community members that work here, can have an opportunity to jump start their college career off and start their education right here in our backyard,” O’Biren Mitsubishi General Manager Ryan Gremore said.
Gremore said the scholarships are a way to thank the community for the success of O’Brien Mitsubishi.
“We’ve been in business here for 30 years now, almost, and we’ve had an enormous amount of success in town,” said Gremore. “We’re so proud to be the number one selling brand in McLean County. We wouldn’t have that without the loyalty of our brand and our culture of people that live, and sleep, and eat in this community.”
Two $1,000 scholarships and three $500 scholarships will be available each of the five years at each school.
