BLOOMINGTON – Bloomington Police say they arrested three men in connection with a string of residential burglaries.

Police responded to a burglary in progress on Keisha Drive on the city’s east side just before 2 p.m. Tuesday. One suspect, Andray Alexander, 29, of Bloomington, was immediately taken into custody. A second suspect, Keith Mcallister, 27, of Bloomington was captured after a foot chase along G.E. Road. Police say a third suspect, Mario Crowder, 27, of Chicago, fled in a Jeep Cherokee which he used to strike a detective before crashing into an apartment building in the 2100 block of G.E. Road. The suspect was taken into custody a short time later.

Police say the injured Bloomington detective was treated at a local hospital and released.

The three suspects face residential burglary charges. Police are also seeking felony battery charges against Crowder. Officers say they recovered electronic items which they believe were stolen in a series of home break-ins.

Pritzker, recall another Illinois Governor who protested the incursion of armed federal personnel into the city.   Those federal troops, rather than calming, escalated the situation, leading to deaths and violence. Illinois poet Vachel Lindsay…

In these troubled times, to my fellow white Americans

By Mike Matejka Our nation is at a unique watershed in human relations. African-Americans have been killed too many times in the past before George Floyd, but the response to this man’s death is international and all-encompassing. I was a grade-schooler during the Civil Rights 1960s. I watched Birmingham demonstrators hosed and the Selma – Montgomery…

Workers’ Memorial Day – Remember those whose job took their life

Looking around our community, when we say employer, most will respond to State Farm, Country, or Illinois State University.   We too often forget those who are building our roads, serving our food, or our public employees. COVID-19 has made us more aware of the risk.  Going to work every day for some people means…
