NORMAL – Charity was the big winner this year at the record breaking Bruegala beer tasting festival in August. The Jaycees sponsored event raised $69,000 for charity.
The announcement was made first on WJBC’s Terry James show. Member Jeremy Kelley says the amount is $14,000 higher than any other year.
“Plus then we also people wise had 6300 paid, we estimate around 7000 people through the door with volunteers and all that,” said Kelley. “That’s again another huge jump for us. record crowd, record people, record profit, that’s great for charities.”
Bruegala was held at the Normal Corn Crib for the first time this year. Organizers says they will approve on parking shuttles next year.
