BLOOMINGTON – You will see some tents set up in the parking lot of the Salvation Army of McLean County parking lot Friday Night.

Salvation Army Captain Paul James said they are doing it to make a point about the homeless problem in McLean County.

“Our main puropse is to raise awareness of the homeless population here in Mclean County and some of the needs we have this time of the year,” said James.

James says when the temperature drops more people show up at the Safe Harbor shelter at the Salvation Army.  People also come to the warming center at the Salvation Army bringing a need for basics like soap and toilet paper.

I was a grade-schooler during the Civil Rights 1960s. I watched Birmingham demonstrators hosed and the Selma – Montgomery…

Workers’ Memorial Day – Remember those whose job took their life

COVID-19 has made us more aware of the risk.  Going to work every day for some people means…
