The WJBC Country Financial High School Football Extravaganza stretched into Saturday during week four thanks to inclement weather.
Normal West 59, Grayslake North 54
NORMAL – Dante Ruffin scored three second-half touchdown, including a 10-yard touchdown reception with 11 seconds remaining to cap a stunning comeback in Normal West’s wild 59-54 win over Grayslake North.
Ruffin also ran back a kickoff 68 yards for s touchdown in the third quarter to move West within 47-45 after his teammate Genesis Forest ran back the previous kickoff 70 yards for a score.
Grayslake North took a 54-53 lead on a hook-and-lateral 49-yard completion on 4th down and 39 with about 3 minutes remaining.
The Knights were in position to leave the Wildcats with little hope when a bad snap on a punt left West the ball at the Grayslake 10-yard line with 18 seconds remaining before Ruffin punched in the game-winning score.

Central Catholic 21, Olympia 6
STANFORD – Olympia led for all of 20 seconds before Central Catholic jumped on top to stay in a 21-6 win in a makeup game Saturday.
The Spartans only lead came with 43 seconds remaining in the second quarter when Collin Miller connected with Justin Slager on a 6-yard touchdown pass on 4th down.
The Saints would answer on Jake Baughman’s 52-yard scoring strike to Bobby Brady for a 7-6 halftime lead.
Brett Segobiano’s 14-yard touchdown run in the third period increased the CCHS lead to 14-6.
The Saints stopped the Spartans on 4th and goal then picked up 81 yards on a 3rd and long completion to Brady to set up Baughman’s 4-yard touchdown run with 9:17 to go in the final period.
The Spartans twice got inside the Saints’ 10-yard line abs failed to score.
The No. 7-ranked (Class 3A) Saints improve to 3-1. The Spartans drop to 1-3.
