Thomas Allen “Tom” Peifer, 79, of Bloomington, passed away at 10:09 a.m. on Sep. 7 at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center, Normal.
A prayer service and celebration of life service will be 4:00-6:00 p.m. Sep. 25 at Lakeside Country Club 1201 Croxton Ave., Bloomington 61701.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to Safe Haven Hospice 628 Broadway St, Lincoln, Ill. 62656 or a charity of the donor’s choice. Cremation services provided by Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington.
Tom was born Feb. 14, 1936 in Bloomington the son of Albert Vernon and Ada Elizabeth Mann Peifer. He married Mary Joan Peifer in 1955 in Bloomington. She passed away February 1979. He later married Diana Kay Cline, Dec. 4, 1992 in Bloomington. She survives.
Also surviving are two children, Tina (Lawrence) Braden, Peoria, Tammi (Joseph) Berner, Bloomington; two step children, Robin (Rodger Schaeffer) Cline, Bloomington, Paula (Randy) Doss, Normal; five grandchildren, Jason (Trisha) Braden, Joan Braden, Jami (Adam) Clementz, Janelle (Daniel) Hawk, Stevie McKimmy; five step grandchildren, Brandy Doss, Gabrielle Doss, Casey Mathias
Caleb Cline, Cory Cline, Paige (Chris) Jany; four great grandchildren, Isiah Braden, Emma Clementz, Nehemiah Braden, Braden Clementz, Lee Hawk; four step great grandchildren, Maci King, Ryder Schultz, Lola Dunn, Wallace Jany; two sisters, Marion Shriver, Heyworth, Carol (Gene) Dunham, Bloomington; daughter-in-law, Jeannete) Peifer, Dana, Ill.
He is preceded in death by his parents, son Allen Peifer and one brother Albert Peifer, Jr.
Tom worked for Eisner-Jewell Food Stores. The he started College Hills Meat Shop where he worked until he retired. Tom, enjoyed, fishing, hunting and spending time with his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother. He will be missed by all who knew him. It is fitting that he passed away on Labor Day. He worked hard all his life.

Francis Walsh
Francis J. “Fran” Walsh, 84, of Normal, passed away at 9:14 p.m., Aug. 24 at his home.
His graveside service will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bloomington with military rites accorded by the Bloomington-Normal American Legion Honor Guard. The Rev. Thomas Mizeur will officiate.

Fran was born June 5, 1931 in Bloomington, the son of Lawrence P. and Imelda M. Gunn Walsh. He married Pat Valind on Feb. 5, 1955 in Bloomington. She survives.
He is also survived by seven children, Timothy (Marcia) Walsh of Bloomington, Mary (Bruce) Cope of Stanford, Daniel Walsh of Bloomington, Matthew (Jill) Walsh of Bloomington, Susan (Marlon) Kelch of Normal, Douglas (Rhonda) Walsh of Gilbert, Ariz. and Thomas (Rhonda) Walsh of Normal; 23 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren; three sisters, JoannieBriman of Topeka, Kan., Mary Lois (Gene) Kauffman of Normal, Ann Knapp of Normal; a sister-in-law, Jo Walsh of Hudson; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Walsh and a sister, Margie Veselak.
Fran graduated from Trinity High School and served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was a printer for many years and had worked for Illinois Graphics and later headed the printing department at Champion Federal. After retirement, Fran drove a bus for Unit 5 School District until he was 80 years old.
Fran was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Bloomington. He was an avid fisherman and a member of the National Rifle Association. Fran enjoyed spending time in his garage, referred to as the “Dog House,” but his greatest joy was his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Carolan H. Wilson, 64, of Bloomington, passed away at 7:46 p.m., Sep. 8 at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center in Normal.
Her funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday at Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home, Bloomington. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m., Friday at the funeral home. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.

Carolan was born Nov. 3, 1950 in Macomb, the daughter of James C. and Polly Ann McCormick Wherley. She married P. Douglas Wilson on Aug. 27, 1990 in Bloomington. He survives.
She is also survived by her mother, Polly Ann Wherley of Bloomington, four children, Brian (Shareen) Robb of Normal, Eric (Susan) Robb of Round Rock, Texas, Meredith (Beau Longini) Wilson of Phoenix, Ariz. and Samuel (Maureen) Wilson of Bloomington; 15 grandchildren, Taylor Robb, Brittlee McHenry, Gage Tynan, Brady Lawson, Jasmine Esmaeli, Dayton Tynan, twins Joshua and Jacob Longini, Drake Robb, Isabel Wilson, Dane Wilson, Morgan Robb, Vivian Longini, Liam Wilson and Findlay Wilson; one great grandson, Hayden McHenry; four sisters, Linda (Gary) Sutton of Avery, Texas, Debra Wherley of Bloomington, Pamela (Martin) Fogler of Hudson and Patti (Kevin) Lloyd of Normal and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Carolan was a legal secretary and office manager for James T. Finegan Law Office in Bloomington for 22 years. She loved to travel, especially with family and her sisters-in-law, Pam Wilson and Judy Wilson.
The family would like to thank the MOSU (Medical Oncology Special Unit) nursing staff on the 5th Floor at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center for taking such great care of Carolan.
Carolan was loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
