Virginia E. Thiel, 95, of Bloomington, passed away at 2:30 a.m. on Sep. 3 at her residence.
Her service will be private. Entombment will be at Park Hill Mausoleum, Bloomington. Chaplain Lyn Mounce will be officiating. Arrangements are being handled by Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington. The family suggests memorials be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
Virginia was born March 31, 1920 in Dwight, Ill. the daughter of Ernest and Almeda Pilsen Thiel.
Surviving are four nieces and nephews, Leslie Thiel Kessler, Bloomington, John Kent (Helen) Thiel, Sun City, Ariz., Elizabeth Deskins, Columbus, Ohio, Peter (Dinah) Thiel, Columbus, Ohio; one sister-in-law, Elsie M. Thiel, Bloomington.
She is preceded in death by her parents and four brothers Kent, James E., John and Robert Thiel, and one Sister, Mildred Thiel Johanson.
Virginia was a nurse and graduated from Brokaw Hospital Nursing School in 1942. She graduated from St. Francis School of Anesthesia in 1948. She was a Registered Nurse Anesthetists at Gaily Eye Clinic for over 38 years. Virginia was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Bloomington.
