According to Bloomington Police, a 17-year-old boy from Chicago was arrested overnight on preliminary charges of aggravated battery – discharge of a firearm and possession of a stolen vehicle.

A 22-year-old man was hospitalized on Aug. 23 with a gunshot wound to the pelvis. Police say the victim’s injuries appear to be non life-threatening.

The shooting happened near Mason and Olive streets. The teen was arrested in the area of Rowe Drive and IAA Drive at about 1:15 a.m. Police say the shooting is believed to have stemmed from a dispute over illegal drugs and no other suspects are being sought in connection with the shooting.
