BLOOMINGTON – Bloomington-Normal continues to have the lowest unemployment rate of any metro area in the state.
The Illinois Department of Employment Security said Thursday unemployment fell in every metro area on a year-to-year comparison for the 17th-straight month in July.
Unemployment in the Twin Cities was 4.7 percent in July, a drop of 1.3 percent from July 2014. The statewide unemployment rate was 5.9 percent in July.
Bloomington-Normal has added 500 non-farm jobs since July 2014.
