Those traveling to Normal or just want to get out of the house for a night have a new option in Uptown Normal. The new Hyatt Place has opened it’s doors as part of a soft opening to the public, it’s grand opening will take place in mid-September.
Rodney Brittain, the General Manager of the new hotel, says they are trying to be different. “We need to give our guest what they want when they want,”Brittain said. “If you want a burger cooked at 3am, we are goin to cook it for you.”
The Hyatt Place, which is located at 200 Broadway Ave. has 114 rooms for guests, and around 2500 sq. feet of conference space throughout it’s eight stories. The new hotel cost $25 million, including a $5.1 million contribution from the Town of Normal. Prices at the hotel range from $149-$170 per night, according to their website.
