Mitsubishi and UAW agree to one-month contract extension

NORMAL – Mitsubishi Motors has announced that its contract with United Auto Workers Local 2488 has been extended a month.

The current contract expires at midnight Thursday and Mitsubishi Spokesman Dan Irvin said its been extended through Sept. 28

The company has announced plans to halt production at the plant in November and potentially close in May of next year. The Mitsubishi Task Force is trying to find a buyer for the plant to keep that from happening.
