BLOOMINGTON – Habitat for Humanity of McLean County is celebrating their 30th anniversary with the Rock the House concert on Oct. 9.
The event will celebrate what the group has done for the community and will include food from Epiphany Farms and music from the Midwest Dueling Pianos. Tickets can be purchased in advance, an option that Sarah Franzen with Habitat for Humanity strongly recommended.
“We encourage people to buy tickets in advance,” Franzen said. “You can grab them at the Habitat office at 103 West Jefferson in Downtown Bloomington. You can also buy them at the Castle Theater box office or on their website as well.”
Franzen said choosing the popular piano group to perform at the concert was an easy choice.
“We looked around and felt like this was a good fit for us and what we’re hoping to do at the event,” said Franzen. “So we’re really excited. Hopefully people that love Habitat will come and enjoy Dueling Pianos, and hopefully people who love Dueling Pianos come and learn a little bit about Habitat.”
The organization has more planned beyond the upcoming concert, said Franzen.
“We’re formally doing the Rock the House event to celebrate 30 years, but we really wanted to figure out a more personal way to give back to the community as a staff,” Franzen said. “So 30 for 30 is our staff taking on 30 different other projects or events with non-profits from a volunteer standpoint. We just try to help because we know how important those extra hands can be.”
The concert is an 18 and older event. More information can be found at Habit for Humanity’s website.
