BLOOMINGTON – McLean County Sheriff’s police are investigating a string of car burglaries in rural Bloomington.
Police report six incidents where items were stolen from vehicles parked at home from an area west of Bloomington to north of Heyworth. In only two cases were the vehicles locked, prompting the burglars to break in. Cash and other miscellaneous items were taken in each case.
The thefts were reported early Thursday. Police don’t have a suspect description but they believe the incidents are connected.
Police remind drivers to lock their car doors. They say in many cases, a thief won’t try to break in if the car is locked.
