A Tazewell County Sheriff’s deputy has died after a single car crash while responding to a call.
Tazewell County Sheriff Robert Huston says 44-year-old Deputy Craig Whisenand was responding to a report of a domestic disturbance in Armington at about 10:30 Monday night and communications with the officer were lost a short time later. Another deputy discovered the accident just before midnight at the intersection of Springfield and Tomm Roads north of Delavan. Whisenand was pronounced dead at the scene.
State police and the coroner’s office are investigating.
