Joan E. Schweitzer, 81, of Bloomington, died at 11:50 a.m. on Aug. 5 at Heritage Health in Bloomington.
Private memorial service will be held at Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home, Bloomington. Cremation rites have been accorded. Interment will be at Park Hill Cemetery, Bloomington at a later date. She was born March 27, 1934 in Bloomington, daughter of Leora Morrissey Croke. She married Harlan E. Schweitzer, he preceded her in death on Dec. 12, 1984. She was also preceded in death by four brothers.
Surviving are five sons, Harlan Jr (Pam) Schweitzer of Normal, Mark (Glenda) Schweitzer, Mike (Donna) Schweitzer and Joe (Dawn) Schweitzer, all of Bloomington and Rob (Jackie Kipfer) Schweitzer of Mackinaw. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren and one brother, John “Jack” (Mary Ann) Croke of Bloomington.
Joan enjoyed listening to country music, she especially enjoyed Willie Nelson. She also enjoyed watching Lucille Ball, and her crazy antics.
