Bloomington police searching for armed and dangerous man

BLOOMINGTON – Bloomington police are warning the public of a man considered armed and dangerous.

Leonard Benson Jr., 25, is wanted in connection with an armed robbery that occurred at 6 Strawberry Lane in Bloomington in early July. Police officials believe that Benson left town after the robbery but is now back in the Bloomington area.

Benson is a black male, 6’1″, and 185 pounds. Benson has black hair and brown eyes. His last known address was on Golfcrest Road in Normal. He currently has a McLean County Warrant for Armed Robbery/Armed with a Firearm.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Leonard Benson is asked to contact BPD Detective Thomas Rena at 309-275-5345.

Crime Stoppers of McLean County can be reached at 309-828-1111 and will pay cash rewards of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and indictment of people who commit felony crimes in McLean County.
