Bloomington man charged in infant daughter’s death

BLOOMINGTON – A Bloomington man has been jailed on charges that he suffocated his infant daughter.

McLean County prosecutors say the girl’s death was unintentional, but they have charged Timothy Crafton Sr., 34, with involuntary manslaughter, child endangerment and obstruction of justice.

Leah-Renee Crafton died last November. A coroner’s jury in Peoria County has ruled the girl’s death a homicide. Crafton is also accused of lying to investigators for allegedly saying he had placed the girl in bed on her back.

Crafton is being held on a $500,000 bond.
