BLOOMINGTON – U.S. Rep. Rodney Davis’ (R-Taylorville) 13th Congressional District includes Springfield’s Lanphier High School, where a young athlete by the name of Andre Iguodala led the Lanphier Lions to a state title game appearance more than a decade ago.
Now he has reached greater heights, carrying the Golden State Warriors past LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers with an MVP performance in the NBA Finals.
“I’m proud to recognize Andre Iguadala and his many accomplishments in his dedication to basketball, from his time as a youth in Springfield Illinois until now,” Davis said. “Congrats Andre. Congrats to all the Warriors fans. And congrats to those in Springfield who continue to look up to you every single day.”
Iguodala’s accomplishments include an Olympic Gold Medal from the 2012 Games in London.
