A memorial visitation will be held from 12 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 25, 2015 at Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home, Bloomington. The family has requested casual attire for those in attendance. Cremation rites have been accorded. An inurnment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Merna at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. He was born February 26, 1954 in Bloomington, son of Robert Paul and Mary Lou Wiese Richard. He married Mary Louise Keith on May 14, 1976.
Surviving are his wife, Mary, of Lexington; one daughter, Jodi (Christopher “Woody”) Lang of Oak Grove, MO; one son, Joshua Richard, at home; five grandchildren, Brittany (fiance’ Rob), Casi, Katie, Cougar and David and two great-grandchildren, Mason and McKenzie. Also surviving are five sisters, Debbie (Francis) Embry and Tammie (Dan) Winters, both of Bloomington, Heidi (Steve) Norton of Cooksville, Jill Richard of Towanda and Kara Richard of Bloomington; a special brother-in-law, Russell “Rusty” (Terri Lee) Keith of El Paso and seven nieces and nephews, Jeremy (Sonya), Courtney (Chris), Luke (Megan), Lance, Tyler, Nikki and Cody.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Whitey farmed his entire life in the Lexington and Towanda areas. He was an avid gun collector, loved his Harley-Davidson motorcycle and enjoyed buying and collecting antiques. His greatest pride and joy was his family, especially his grandchildren.
