BLOOMINGTON – The 12th annual Radio Bloomington Summer Blood Drive is Monday afternoon at the Avanti’s in Bloomington.
You can donate until 6 p.m. Those who donate will receive a free Gondola sandwich from Avanti’s. Red Cross
People will be asked to donate one pint of whole blood, said Red Cross spokesman Ben Corey.
“Whole blood can be processed into three separate transferable components: Red blood cells, platelets and plasma,” Corey said “It’s possible those three components can be given to three separate patients.”
Blood donations typically drop in the summer, so Corey says donations now are critical to saving lives.
