Wanda Mae Kauffman, 84, of Chenoa, passed away at 6:55 a.m., July 19 at Meadows Mennonite Retirement Community, Chenoa.
Her funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Chenoa with Father Carl LoPresti officiating. Interment will follow in Chenoa Township Cemetery, Chenoa.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m., Wednesday prior to her service also at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Chenoa. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Chenoa is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be directed to Alzheimer’s Association.
Wanda was born Feb. 13, 1931 in Randolph, Ill.; the daughter of Alvah and Nellie (Weakly) Stivers. She married Thomas A. Kauffman June 17, 1950 in Chenoa. He survives in Chenoa.
Also surviving are two children, Richard (Maria) Kauffman of Winthrop, Mass.; Sheila (Joe) Johns of Saunemin, Ill.; one sister, Ruth (Marv) Bono of Mesa, Ariz.; four grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, Nadine Griffith, Betty Sauter, Bernadine Goode, Dorothy Abbott, four brothers, Donald, Ralph, Clarence and Gerald Stivers.
Wanda and Tom recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary. They loved to dance and spend time with their grandchildren. Wanda also enjoyed gardening and crocheting in her spare time. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Chenoa.

Wanda K. Tammen, 94, Fairbury, died at 12:30 p.m. July 18 at the Pontiac Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Fairbury with Pastor Tom Krieger officiating. Burial will be in Avoca Twp. Cemetery, Fairbury.
Visitation will be 2:00 – 2:45 p.m. Wednesday also at the church. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury is in charge of arrangements. The family suggests memorials be given to the Trinity Lutheran Church, Fairbury or the Pontiac Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.
Mrs. Tammen was born May 14, 1921 in Flanagan, Ill. the daughter of John G. and Elsie E. Park Hansen. She married Frank H. Tammen on December 29, 1946 in Chenoa, Ill. He preceded her in death on Jan. 30, 1958.
Surviving is one daughter, Arlene (Ricardo) Gutierrez, Fairbury, one son, Wayne (Carol) Tammen, Pontiac, seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
Mrs. Tammen was a 1939 graduate of Flanagan High School. She was a homemaker and was employed for 39 years at the Fairbury Garment Factory retiring in 1997. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Fairbury and the women of the ELCA.
