CHICAGO – The National Weather Service in Chicago has issued a Tornado Watch for Ford and Livingston counties until 10 p.m.
Those counties are also under a Flash Flood Watch until midnight.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Storm Prediction Center advises Central Illinois is in the enhanced risk for severe weather on Saturday. Thunderstorms are expected to affect much of the watch area this afternoon into this evening, according to the weather service. NWS said the atmosphere remains moist and thunderstorms will be capable of producing torrential rains, potentially in excess of two inches per hour.
The entire WJBC listening area remains under a heat advisory until 7 p.m.
