SPRINGFIELD – It’s not a perfect solution, but State Representative Dan Brady said the governor has signed a bill to pay for public K through 12 education along with early childhood education.
“The aspect of yes we have a budget from their prospective, yes we have some increased dollars in there, but of course they’re going to say we could still use more for the years of all the under funding,” said Brady.
K-12 education funding for the 2015-2016 Fiscal Year is being increased by about $244 million, early childhood education by $25 million.
“The important part I think school districts will say is that at least we have a….budget that has been signed into law,” said Brady. “Not perfect, but the budget has increased funding for the most part and allows up to plan better for the next year for our school district.”
There are plenty of fiscal problems left, including the rest of the fiscal year 2016 state budget.
