WASHINGTON – U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill., continues to be a key backer of normalizing relations with Cuba.
Durbin said a key diplomatic component of that movement is closer to reality, building embassies on both sides.
“We are moving toward that,” Durbin said. “We’ve run into some obstacles, in creating an embassy in Cuba. Ultimately I believe it will take place.”
Durbin continues to believe boosting relations between the nations will help bring reform to the island nation.
