BLOOMINGTON – The Bloomington Fire Department will begin testing fire hydrants throughout the City of Bloomington beginning the week of May 11.
The testing will continue throughout the summer months. Fire hydrants are tested to identify any that are broken or malfunctioning so that they can be serviced and/or replaced by the Bloomington Water Department.
City of Bloomington residents may experience a brief change in the color of their water during this process. Simply allow the water to flow for a few minutes until it is clear once again.
As always, stay alert and approach and pass all emergency vehicles and personnel slowly and with caution. The Bloomington Fire Department wishes to thank you for your cooperation and understanding during the upcoming months of this important testing.
