BLOOMINGTON – The Illinois Agricultural Leadership Foundation has moved its headquarters from Macomb to Bloomington.
The group had been based in Macomb since it was founded in 1984.
“Our board wants to be in what many people consider to be the center part of agriculture in Illinois,” said Don Norton, IALF president. “Bloomington-Normal really is the centerpoint for agriculture in the state of Illinois, and the Ag Leadership program needs to be there. And so we will be.”
Norton said the group wanted to be closer in proximity to other agriculture groups including the Illinois Farm Bureau and commodity groups that are already in the area.
“We’re very excited about a lot of the partnerships this will afford to us,” said Norton.
The IALF coordinates the Illinois Ag Leadership Program, which is a leadership development series for professionals in agriculture and agribusiness. The organization’s headquarters will be in the Evergreen FS building at 402 N. Hershey Road in Bloomington, in the space formerly occupied by the University of Illinois Extension.
