Dewey Cook
Dewey L. Cook, 80 of Morgantown, Ky., formerly of Bloomington passed away on April 27 at the Signature Health Care of Bowling Green, Ky.
His funeral service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Kibler- Brady- Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the Jones Funeral Chapel in Morgantown, Ky. and Friday May 1, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at Kibler- Brady- Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington.
Interment will be in the Park Hill Cemetery in Bloomington. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Mt Vernon Missionary Baptist Church 4672 Caneyville Rd. Morgantown, Ky. 42261.
Dewey was born Aug. 25, 1934 in Butler County Kentucky the son of Noah and Gertrude Cook. He married Patricia Peiffer in February of 1954 in Bloomington.
He is survived by one daughter Deb Schaffer husband Steve of Saunemin, Ill.; one son Mark L. Cook wife Marilyn of Morgantown, Ky.; two grandchildren, Emily (Luke) Bonvallet of Kankakee, Alex (Stephanie Gardiner) Schaffer of Lebanon, Ind., two great granddaughters, Evelyn and Clara Bonvallet of Kankakee; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife Patricia, Dewey was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Thelma Wilcoxson and Velma Harris.
Dewey was retired from the Bloomington Fire Department after 33 years of service and was a member of Mt Vernon Missionary Baptist Church.
