The St. Louis Cardinals face a pitcher tonight whose name has come up as a potential replacement for injured starter Adam Wainwright.
The Cardinals open their longest homestand of the season tonight as the Philadelphia Phillies come to Busch Stadium.
John Lackey pitches for the Cardinals against Cole Hamels. The Phillies are said to be shopping the veteran lefthander. The Cardinals could be looking for another pitcher as Wainwright undergoes an MRI for a left ankle and Achilies injury.
