Minervabel Adreon

Minervabel Mool Adreon, 95, of Bloomington, passed away at 11:00 p.m. on March 4 at McLean County Nursing Home in Normal.

Her Graveside Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Lexington with Pastor Randy Starnes officiating. There will be no visitation. Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington is assisting the family with arrangements.

Minervabel was born on June 12, 1919 in Gridley, a daughter of Leslie and Amy Andrews Mool. She married her high school sweetheart, Milburn Adreon on Sep. 12, 1937 in Lexington. He preceded her in death in 1990.

Surviving is one son, Terry Lynn (Suzanne) Adreon of Downs; one grandson, Lynn Thomas (Blythe) Adreon of Orlando, Fla.; one great granddaughter, Chloe Lynn Adreon; a great grandson is due in June; nephews, Dennis Mool, Eddie Keith Mool and Gary Mool.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Keith Mool and Leslie Lyle Mool.

Minervabel was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution, Eastern Star and several bridge clubs. She had been employed for 25 years at Ron Smith Printing, retiring in 1984. Her greatest joys were her family and friends and traveling with her husband. She collected angels all of her life and enjoyed singing for special events.

For the wonderful caring assistance Minervabel received in her late years, the family would like to thank The Myerling, Evergreen Place and especially McLean County Nursing Home.

Catherine Bledsoe

Catherine E. Bledsoe, 90, of Bloomington, passed away at home and went to her heavenly family to be with her Lord and Savior at 5:15 p.m. March 4 surrounded by loved ones.

A private family memorial service will be held at Second Presbyterian Church in Bloomington with Rev. Paul Stroup officiating. She was born Nov. 26, 1924, in Camden, N.J. to John and Hazel Lutz. She attended and graduated from Haddenfield High School in Haddenfield, N.J. After graduation, she worked at Bell Telephone. She met her future husband of 61 years, Glenn, an airplane mechanic on the U.S.S. Card CVE-11 during WWII, at the age of 20. After only three dates, they moved and were married in Chicago on June 6, 1945. In later years, she was employed by Bloomington School District 87 as a cook at Washington School.

Surviving are her children, a son, Glenn, and a daughter, Nancy (William “Joe”) Miles; three grandchildren, Glenn “Rusty” (Janae) Bledsoe, Keri (Michael) Roper, and William “Joey” (Anna) Miles; seven great-grandchildren, Eli and Molly Bledsoe, Patrick, Jonah, and Ian Roper, Rosa and Marco Miles; all of Bloomington-Normal.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn in 2006, and her sister, Myrtle Guille, of Lower Bank, N.J. in 2011.

Catherine was a member of Second Presbyterian Church in Bloomington. She was known for her cooking, baking, and sense of humor. She greatly enjoyed the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be missed by everyone that knew her. She was well-loved by all of her family and taught all of them the meaning of love.

Peggy Kerrins

Peggy Sue Kerrins, 51, of Fairbury, passed away at 4:36 a.m., March 5 surrounded by her loved ones, at Advocate BroMenn Regional Medical Center, Normal.

Her funeral will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury.  Pastor David Heath will be officiating.

Burial will be in South Graceland Cemetery, Fairbury.

Visitation will be held from 2-6:00 p.m., Sunday also at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Peggy Kerrins Charity Fund established at First State Bank of Forrest.

Peggy was born Oct. 5, 1963, in Bloomington,the daughter of Nyles and Eldora Cremeens Schumm.

She married Darren Kerrins on Feb. 18, 1983 in Pontiac. He survives.

Also surviving are her mother, Eldora Coggins of Chenoa; son Nyles Schumm of Fairbury; daughter, Jennifer (Trent) Johnson of Evansville, Wis.; grandchildren, Kole, Klyne, and Kellen Johnson; brothers, Jerry (Angela) Coggins of Katy, Texas, David Schumm of Reserve, N.M., Jim Coggins of Hopedale, Roger (Tina) Schumm of Pontiac; sisters, Paula (Max) Poppe of LaGrange, Lori (Gary) Lockwood of Pekin, Sheila (Robert) Powers of Fairbury, Dawn (John) Hurt of Pontiac, and Annette (John) Thompson of Bloomington; brother-in-law, Keenan (Lila) Kerrins of Saukville, Wis.

She was preceded in death by her father and step-father, Leslie Coggins.

Peggy last worked in housekeeping at Fairview Haven. She had a special gift working with Alzheimer’s patients which she enjoyed doing while an activity aide at Meadows Mennonite Retirement Community.

She loved volunteering with her husband at the Fairbury American Legion Speedway, Fairbury Fair, and Fairbury Haunted House.

Peggy enjoyed going on motorcycle rides with her husband, clerking auctions for her son, and spoiling her precious grandchildren.

Peggy had a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone. Her generosity and love will be missed greatly by her family and friends.

Zelma Schleeter

Zelma Schleeter, 84, of Colfax, passed away at 3:48 p.m. March 4 at Advocate Bromenn Regional Medical Center, Normal.

Her funeral will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Colfax. The Reverend Stephen Goodwin will be officiating.

Burial will be in Wiley Cemetery, Colfax.

Visitation will be held from 4-6:00 p.m., Friday and one hour prior to services on Saturday at the funeral home

Memorials may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church, Anchor or Eastern McLean County Ambulance Association.

Zelma was born Feb.12, 1931 in Delavan, Wis., the daughter of Charlie Leslie and Beulah Harris Davis.

She married Merlin Wayne Schleeter on June 11, 1950 in Anchor. He passed away March 30, 2002.

Surviving are his son, Bruce (Jenny) Schleeter of Colfax; grandchildren, Keith (Brandy) Schleeter and Krista (Rick) McKitrick; step-grandchild, Sherri (Matt) Bisbee; great-grandchildren, Jalen, Aubrey, Zack, Chandler, Grant, Jesse, Cash, Pierce, and Nola; sister-in-laws, Maude Schleeter of WI and Shirley Schleeter of Lexington and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Shannon Schleeter, brother, Howard Davis and sister, ThoraHerrli.

Zelma was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Anchor.

She was an award winning Avon Sales Representative and ran a daycare out of her home for many years.

Zelma loved and lived her life for her family. She enjoyed cooking large meals for them all to enjoy. She also enjoyed sewing.

Lillian Zywiec

Lillian G. Zywiec, 90, of Bloomington, passed away at 10:35 p.m. on Monday at Martin Health Center in Bloomington.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Her memorial mass will be held at St. James the Less Catholic Church in Highland Indiana on June 27, 2015 at 10:00 a.m.. Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington is assisting the family with local arrangements.

Inurnment will follow in St. John/St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Hammond, IN. Memorials may be made to the Bluefields Vicariate, C/O Capuchin Mission Office, 1820 Mt. Elliott Avenue, Detroit, Mich., 48207.

Lillian was born on December 10, 1924 in East Chicago, Ind., a daughter to Vincent and Teresa Wolownik Sidor. She married Albin C. Zywiec on August 31, 1946 in St. Louis. He preceded her in death on August 22, 1999. A devout Roman Catholic, Lillian was a member of St. Patrick Church of Merna in Bloomington having previously been a member of St. Bede’s Church in Montgomery, Ala., St. James the Less Church in Highland, Ind. and was a long time member of Assumption Church in East Chicago Ind.

Surviving are children, Bishop David A. Zywiec O.F.M. CAP, of Bluefields, Nicaragua, Sheila M. (Donnell) Geib of Watertown, Wis., Dr. Daria J. (Louis) Anagnos of Montgomery, Ala., Bruce S. (Dawn) Zywiec of Bloomington, Polly A. (Dan Selden) Zywiec of Eldorado Hills, Calif.; Eleven grandchildren: Sean Geib, Audrey Clare, Nicholas Geib, Bernadette Brown, Teresa Loepfe, Sarah Zywiec, Atlas Anagnos, Kira Selden, Alexa Selden, Cyrena Selden and Christian Selden; Ten great grandchildren: Sidor, Aurora, Talulla and Esme Clare, Simon, Obadiah and Esther Geib, Ignatius and Gus Loepfe, and George Anagnos.

Lillian volunteered as a Pink Lady at St. Catherine’s Hospital in East Chicago, IN. She loved to knit, crochet, and work on puzzles. She enjoyed spending time with her family.

Lillian was preceded in death by her parents; husband; four brothers; two sisters; and a grandson, Bartholomew Geib.
