Eves named McLean County associate judge

BLOOMINGTON – McLean County prosecutor Pablo Eves has been selected by the Circuit Judges of the Eleventh Judicial Circuit to fill the associate judge vacancy.

Eves fills the seat created by Judge Casey Costigan’s appointment to fill a Circuit Judge vacancy.
 
Eves was selected from among nine applicants for the position.

"There was a strong group of highly qualified lawyers seeking this position" said Chief Judge Kevin P. Fitzgerald.  "The judges of the Eleventh Circuit are looking forward to welcoming Mr. Eves as a colleague.  He is respected by his fellow attorneys for his conscientious and diligent advocacy on behalf of the County of McLean and the State of Illinois.  These skills will serve him well when he assumes the bench in late March."

Eves graduated from the University of Missouri in 1994 and the University Of Illinois College of Law in 1998. He also had the opportunity to study at the Institute of International & Comparative Law in Barcelona, Spain during the summer of 1997.

Eves is a native of Ballwin, Missouri and a graduate of Lafayette High School, Ballwin, MO.  

Pablo Eves has been an assistant state's attorney since 2005, serving as both first assistant state's attorney in the criminal civil divisions. He worked for the Prior Law Firm in 2004-2005, and was an adjunct professor at Lincoln College in Normal in 2014.

Eves has been a member of the Recovery Starts Today  Board, the Bloomington Historic Preservation Commission; a board member of the McLean County Center for Human Service and member of the Bloomington Human Relations Commission. He is a volunteer at the Clare House Pantry and Trinity Lutheran Church.

Eves and his wife Virginia Eves live in Bloomington and have two children.

Eves will be sworn in as an associate circuit judge in March.
