SPRINGFIELD – A search is ongoing to find the next head of the state's prison system.
Gov. Bruce Rauner's office replaced S.A. "Tony" Godinez as the director of the Illinois Department of Corrections. Rauner temporarily appointed Bryan Gleckler to the role until he can name a permanent replacement.
Godinez had been serving as the leader of IDOC since being appointed by former Gov. Pat Quinn in 2011.
A spokesman for Rauner's office says they hope to have an announcement about the position in the coming weeks.
