SPRINGFIELD – Gov. Bruce Rauner has picked 67-year-old George Sheldon to be Director of the Department of Children and Family Services.
Sheldon comes from Florida where he was the Secretary of their Department of Children and Families for three years.
The Governor’s office says Sheldon was able to turnaround Florida’s system, even with two-hundred-million dollars in budget reductions.
Sheldon’s latest position was with the U.S Department of Health and Human Services as an acting assistant for two years.
