SPRINGFIELD – A Chicago-area lawmaker has introduced a bill that would establish a concussion oversight team in Illinois high schools.
Sen. Dan Kotowski, a Park Ridge Democrat, introduced a bill that would establish a team that consists of doctors, athletic trainers and other people with expertise in the field. The goal of the team would be to create a return-to-play protocol.
A coach wouldn't be allowed to determine when a concussed athlete returns, according to the bill.
