BLOOMINGTON – Bloomington Police say the man who drove the getaway car in an armed robbery on Monday night has been charged for his role in the holdup.
BPD spokeswoman Sara Mayer said Antonio Rivera, 37, of Bloomington is charged with armed robbery – in addition to an obstruction of justice charge he faced when he was taken into custody on Monday following the armed robbery of the Cigarette Express at 502 N. Prospect Rd.
Police found Rivera and two other men, Larry Bridges, 26, of Bloomington and Michael Dopson, 24, of Rockford at a nearby apartment shortly after the robbery.
Rivera is being held in the McLean County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
Police also recovered a handgun they believe was used in the crime. No shots were fired and no one was injured.
