WASHINGTON, D.C., – An Illinois Congressman says President Obama is going light on terrorism to further his legacy. U.S. Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-Channahon) went on Fox and Friends to criticize the administration for releasing five prisoners from Yemen from the Guantanamo Bay detention center earlier this month.
“The administration is trying to unilaterally withdraw from the war on terror. That’s obviously what’s happening. Al Qaida doesn’t know that, right? ISIS doesn’t think the war on terror is over, but the administration, the president has made it clear he wants his legacy to be getting America out of war,” he said.
Kinzinger says the release of prisoners from Guantanamo Bay is adding fuel to terrorists. He believes the war in Iraq was nearly won a few years ago, but too much progress has been lost.
