CLINTON – Operators removed Clinton Power Station from service at 5:24 p.m. Wednesday after discovering elevated water levels in the containment sump, which could be indicative of a small pipe or valve leak inside the containment building.
While the unit is offline, other maintenance activities will be performed.
Clinton Power Station is located approximately six miles east of Clinton. The plant produces 1,078 megawatts at full power – enough electricity to power about one million typical homes.
