BLOOMINGTON – A Bloomington man has reached a plea agreement that could keep him out of jail following a drunk driving crash in November 2013.
Braiton Holloway, 21, pleaded guilty in McLean County court Tuesday to a misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence of marijuana. Holloway was set to stand trial on a felony drunk driving charge.
Holloway crashed his car near College Avenue and Mitsubishi Motorway in Normal. That crash killed the other driver, Jacob Garber of Morton. The defense said Garner's blood alcohol level at the time of the crash was more than twice the legal limit and that Garber was speeding just before the crash.
Holloway will be sentenced in March 17. He faces up to one year in jail or court supervision.
