Closing arguments begin in Compton murder trial

BLOOMINGTON – Closing arguments are underway in the murder trial of Nicholas Compton.

Compton is charged with first degree murder in the death of three-year-old Robbie Cramer.

The prosecution argues Compton abused Cramer, while the defense says it was an accident. The defense also argues authorities conspired to convict Compton from the beginning.

The trial began Jan. 5. Since then several people have testified, including investigators, forensic pathologists, and the child's mother, Danielle Fischer. She also faces charges in a separate trial.
