Obituary: Reid

Forrest – Margaret Reid, 85, of Forrest, passed away at 5:50am, Friday, January 9, 2015 at Heartland Regional medical Center, Marion.

A Graveside service will be at 11:00am, Tuesday, January 13, 2015, at Forrest Township Cemetery. Pastor Daryl Evans will be officiating. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Margaret was born June 9, 1929 in Crystal Lake the daughter of Deigo and Amalia Delatoru DeLeon. She married Charles B. Reid in April of 1945 in Peoria. He passed away on October 18, 1993.

Surviving are her children, Peggy Garrels of Pontiac, John Reid and Judy Grossichs both of Forrest, Joan Robinson of Creal Springs, Carol (Jerry) Chayer of Roberts, Jean Reid of Decatur, Jane Miller of Pontiac, Jackie Gerber of Fairbury, Donald (Angie) Reid of Cullom, Theresa Reid of Fairbury; 26 grandchildren, 60 great-grandchildren, nine great-great-grandchildren, and three sisters.

Margaret was preceded in death by one daughter, Nancy Reid, three sisters, and two brothers.

Margaret spent her life taking care of her family. She enjoyed having family dinners and reading. She worked at The Dress Factory in Fairbury until it closed. She wanted her children to be happy with whatever path they took in life. She will be deeply missed.
