WASHINGTON – There's not been much trash talking between the opposing teams in the FCS championship game, unless you include the two members of Congress who have placed a friendly wager on the game.
U.S. Rep. Rodney Davis, (R-Taylorville), sounded confident when he offers up two dozen cupcakes from Sugar Mama's in Normal to North Dakota Congressman Kevin Cramer in the event the unthinkable happens.
"I've got a cupcake place right next to my office called Sugar Mama's," Davis told Cramer. "I will bet you a dozen of their best salted caramel cupcakes."
Davis was so confident, he upped the ante to two dozen.
If the Redbirds win, Cramer says he will provide Davis and his staff with food products made of bison meat from his district including jerky and summer sausage and he'll deliver it to Davis' office in a Redbird t-shirt.
"In the unlikely case the Redbirds would win by cheating," Cramer quipped.
While he's a Millikin grad, Davis pointed out his daughter will be going to ISU next year.
