BLOOMINGTON – The sentencing of an armed robbery suspect has been delayed because he showed up to court drunk.
Colby Aiknes was going to be sentenced today on armed robbery charges, but he told the defense attorney and later the judge that he was intoxicated.
Aikens admitted to having two beers out of a six-pack and told Judge Robert Freitag that he was sober enough to continue.
Freitag expressed his concern about Aikens, saying Aikens was visibly impaired and smelled like alcohol.
Aiknes is now scheduled to be sentenced Friday and is in custody on $100-thousand dollars bond.
